A visit from our 2020 Humanity Awards winner

Recently we caught up with our Humanity Awards 2021 Junior Ambassador, Elly Roadley. She told us that receiving the award has changed her outlook on life.

"I look at the world differently now. I know that whatever job I have, I want to do good and help people".

Elly was selected last year for a true humanitarian act. She needed to raise funds for her school camp. But instead of just raising money for herself, Elly went above and beyond by raising enough money for others as well.

Elly is still helping wherever she can. Her mother told us Elly used her savings from pocket money to buy her grandmother a new mobile phone for Christmas. Elly had noticed that the photos on her grandmother's phone were blurry, so she took it upon herself to replace the phone, which in turn upgraded the phone's camera.

"I didn't want Baba to have blurry memories," she said.

Elly is still the humble and poised young woman we met at her awards, and we know she will continue to do good in this world with her kind and generous deeds.
